Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences

The Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences was founded in 1994. It was then composed of the Departments of Medicine, Pharmacy and Dentistry.  In 2004 and 2005, the department of nursing and department of community service were annexed to the faculty. In 2011/2012, it was restructured to be the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, whilst the departments of Pharmacy and Dentistry became independent faculties.

Both the male and female branches have their own medical labs and equipment in all disciplines.

The various papers are taught via lectures, seminars, field visits, clinical work, study skills lab, and internship. The medium of instruction is English.    The faculty uses the problem-based learning approach. The major strengths of the faculty are the infrastructure, qualified staff, state of the art equipment, and more importantly, its own teaching hospital. The staff are both local and foreign. Students should study at USTY Medical faculty because of the conducive learning environment, facilitated by  its laboratories and staffs.
